2020 done and dusted. ..
Happy New Year to you all! π»
I was very quiet on the blogging and knitting front during December. We are into a new year and I am still plodding on with my Christmas knitting πΆ My bad back has really set me back but happily I am much more mobile now and can sit for longer and knit yay…
Nothing completed in December so sadly no show and tell.
The river was rising just before Christmas.Β It is slowly going down, leaving very muddy footpaths along the banks. We have had snow this morning but not enough to cause problems.
And just look how close to the river wall the swans are …
Resolutions :
Finish the Christmas knitting and get it posted with suitably grovelling notes.
Pay more attention to blogville.
Woolly wishes,
Jane β‘β‘β‘
Happy NEW year! (I have scoliosis, so I can join you on the ‘bad back’ problem). Just remember: what you can accomplish is ENOUGH, if it pleases you-it’s good and enough. You know that, eventually, you will complete your projects. Knitting is ‘supposed’ to be fun – if it causes pain, take a break – you will get back to it when you CAN!
(now I’ll get off my soapbox). Enjoy the beginnings of a NEW year!

Thank you Pammie. I enjoy a good soapbox session π
I know my knitting will get finished bit this year it will be like Rome – not in a day β€

Happy New Year! I hope your back is 100% soon and if it makes you feel any better – I am still working on a Christmas present, too, and it won’t get finished this week (or next, I’m afraid). Thank you so much for the pictures! I’m so happy for you that you had snow, I really miss it almost every year (my area is too urban and thus mostly too warm).

Thank you Julia. It’s started to snow again, it always looks so much better when you are curled up indoors looking out at it π

Thank you Nicola. I have been enjoying your snowy pictures. We have a bit of snow and the country grounds to a halt β

Thank you. Sometimes we have too much river (when it floods) but we are blessed with our swans, ducks and geese π§
I know that is a penguin but the nearest thing to a water bird that I could find π€

Happy New Year Jane. Iβve given myself a bad back sitting so long to finish a blanket for NY! Back to yoga and moving more now. Hope yours feels better soon.

Thank you Amanda. Yoga is good. I haven’t been to a class since the pandemic started. I think I will have to start doing some of the positions I remember to loosen up π

As a get by I totally recommend Yoga with Adriene on YouTube. She covers most wants and is nice too.

What a beautiful garden view ( though stressful when the level rises). So glad you are feeling better. Happy New Year .

I’m another one still working on Christmas gifts – a pair of gloves, one done, the second needing four more fingers. There’s a reason I never felt a need to knit gloves – but they were a request. Oldest granddaughter wants a sweater – but needs to get me measurements first. And youngest granddaughter never sent a request – maybe she’ll get something for Easter? I like the 365 days of Christmas theory anyway –

I have to admit I probably took on more than I should have. I think next Christmas I will aim for a marathon rather than a sprint finish π

“Done and dusted.” – That takes me back to my year living in Dublin where my husband and I marveled at the charming phrases that are not used in the US. Thanks for making me smile today.
