INTO LOCKDOWN AGAIN!

A winter walk ๐ŸŒซ๐ŸŒซ๐ŸŒซ

The big announcement that most of us were expecting was made last night – another lockdown to contain and control COVID!

I have worked from home today doing admin. Not one of my strong points!! However I did take a break at lunch time for a walk. I didn’t want to leave it until I had finished because it would be dark and very cold.

The river is slowly going down.

The gulls are all lined up on the riverside railings. I don’t know if that means that the weather is bad on the coast or that they are too well-fed inland? Probably the latter!!! I lived in Morecambe (an English seaside town) when I was a student and this reminds me of Morecambe in the winter, no one around and lots of gulls waiting for some unsuspecting soul to get takeaway fish and chips๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Finally I had a walk around Jubilee Gardens and just look at this rose in winter – very Beauty and the Beast!

So a bit more admin and then I can get back to my knitting. Still plodding on with my Christmas knits, so tempting to start something new – I really do have the attention span of a gnat – but if I do the Christmas gifts will be written off until next year so plod on Jane ๐Ÿ˜„

Woolly wishes,

Jane โ™กโ™กโ™ก

  1. Can I say the same as robbiemet3 ? I too thought about going for a walk but dithered and now it’s too dark and too cold out there to consider it further. Tomorrow I shall actually make a plan and not procrastinate – wish me luck!

      1. I got out there but I forgot my camera – still, not such a pretty view as yours was as I walked ’round the block’ near me. I skiddaddled back inside to the heating fairly quickly, but I did leave the house!

  2. So sorry you’re back in lockdown. I live in Michigan (USA) and we’ve been ‘on & off’ locked down since March, last year. My son is an executive chef for 2 Hilton hotels & both restaurants have been closed since then – he’s trying to find a different path for a career – it’s a mess.
I know what you mean about having the attention span of a gnat – I started a Christmas pocket scarf and now I’m waiting for more yarn (have to check that out after writing this) the email I received said it had ‘arrived’ but it’s not in MY mailbox or on my front step – great…
Stay warm (love your river view; that would make for a lovely distraction when stressed!). Hugs, Pam

    1. I do feel for people working in hospitality. Most aren’t paid very well but do it because they are passionate about food and are creative. How many fabulous chefs will the world lose because they change their career path ๐Ÿ˜ท

  3. I can relate. Weโ€™re in lockdown again too and Iโ€™m also struggling to finish my Christmas knits. Iโ€™ve beautiful new yarn tempting me and more arrived today! (Online retail therapy is a pitfall of being cooped up.๐Ÿ˜…) Iโ€™d love to cast on a new project but will plod on like yourself…

  4. Ours just got extended until the end of the month with additional measurements for viewer contacts … I just hope people will follow this so we can get it under control. At least we can still go outside!
