One from the hoard…
As I have confessed in the past I have a weakness for crochet/knit kits. I get drawn in by the cute picture on the box, buy it and then stash itπ€ I have a load of them hidden in the garage that I may or may not get round to completing!
The snail came in a crochet kit from Aldi. Everything that I needed to make 2 snails, including a horrible plastic hook. Less complaining Jane! I have made one snail and there is plenty of yarn left, might even be enough to make a third? So for Β£3.99 it was quite good value, not that I will be making another one any time soon. The pattern was quite straightforward and I have finally mastered crocheting in the round without too much swearing π
I might dig out another kit next month and see how I get on but in the meantime back to my blanketπ
Woolly wishes,
Jane β‘β‘β‘
Such a happy snail. It doesn’t eat the plants so it would be very welcome here. Btw.. Aldi has some good stuff and sometimes you’re lucky to get kits. It’s very nice π

Thank you and yes I think my plants are safe from this chap. Aldi is always hit and miss but if you are there at the right time you can go mad π€

Brian the snail? Remember him from magic roundabout? He’s lovely by the way. I admire your persistence, I really can’t do with the fiddly stuff. π

Thank you Lisa. I do remember Brian but Dylan the rabbit was my favourite. I’m not a natural hooker but I read somewhere that you can learn a lot from making toys so I’m giving it a go βΊοΈ

I would not call that a pest at all! Your critters are super adorable. Do you let them adorn your plants when the weather is nice?

Thank you. We’ve had a bit of a photo shoot today which included sticking tooth picks in them to make them standπ You have to suffer for your art!!!

I actually stayed away from kits when I started crocheting, and bought books instead ^^ Have quite a lot of the Zoomigurumi books which are really great.

If I ever get through the kits I might invest in a book. Some of the kits I only paid Β£1 for as they were end of line, can’t resist a bargain BUT it’s only s bargain if you are going to use it and mine are festering in the garage π€

Awww this is so cute!! Our Aldi never has cute things like this, you only get kits for cushions and tops. XD (and socks) At least I don’t remember amigurumi … The colours look great, too!! π

Thank you Julia. They did some at the end of last year and early spring over here. There was a set of Harry Potter characters but I was too late for those π

oh now … I’d be sad, too. Did you check ebay? Maybe someone has one leftover …?

Good thinking but I’m not really an online shopper and frankly I’ve got all manner of little animals to do so you probably shouldn’t be giving me ideas π

Yay! Your snail turned out really cute! Whimsical is always a good thing! You mentioned the awful plastic hook. I donβt like plastic hooks either. Iβve bought lots of them in the past when I was teaching middle school and we had a crochet club. Finally after a few years I started asking the kids to bring their own hooks, and also I would buy them the metal ones and let them pay me back. ππ

Thank you. At least I had a metal hook of that size so didn’t have to use the plastic one π
