It is really hot here at the moment. My little patch of lawn looks like a dust bowl. But my pots and planters are still alive, although always very thirstyš
And who would have thought just a few weeks ago my garden was drowning from river water due to the floods ā
My lovely son B has been helping me by cutting down old shrubs and then digging out the roots. He has reclaimed this bit of border for me.
And just look at this lot I have got to get rid of!!!
So quite a productive day. A nice walk along the river after tea when the weather is a bit cooler, then a nice bath, a bit of knitting and bed š

The transformation from Lake Jane to this is remarkable. I had help in the garden from my son as well. It makes for light work.

One day, I decided I was tired of looking that scraggly pine in the back yard. So, I took it down. My neighbor came over and said “young lady, does your husband know what you are doing?” I said I hope not!!

Ooh I would love to be called young lady even if it does sound condescending! !! I don’t think husbands should know a lot of things. Certainly if N knew how practical I can be my job list would be a lot longer!!!

Itās looking good! Nice of B to help out, too. Is that a strawberry plant? My dad used to grow strawberries but I have never had any success with themš

Yes, strawberries are about the only thing that survives my garden. Most plants come here to die š

Thatās funny, because my plants are the same way. Iām glad to have discovered that succulents do well for me, so I donāt feel as bad about my yard now š
