For Jane and N…
N retires this summer and has bought himself a project ๐

Yes this little camper. Her name is Lucia.
Obviously there will be an endless list of jobs to be getting on with but I am really excited as I have decided on my next big project.
Crocheted blankets and cushions! Yay!!!
So I’m busy rooting through my stash to get started.
No big trips this year but hopefully a couple of nights away.
Woolly wishes,
Jane โกโกโก
How exciting!!

Isn’t it and in so many ways. Not only the prospect of trips away but the creative possibilities ๐

I love it! The prospect of so many new fun projects is always delightful.
I wish camper vans were more popular in the states; our options seem to be limited to enormous bus sized RVs or a tow-behind pop-up!

I’ve noticed American vans are like houses on wheels ๐
Our little van will be quite snug but an adventure xx

Look into Roadtrek and Pleasureway. As a happy Roadtrekker, I can tell you van conversions are everywhere, once you start to see them. They are referred to as Class B motorhomes, under 24 feet. There’s even a woman in Washington state, I think, who will convert a van for you! And there are a couple of pop-tops, and small pick-up campers.

This year it’s engine and brakes. Next year (when we’ve saved more money) its body and interior ๐

Is that a pop top? Who makes the chassis? What does she have for amenities? (and yes, brakes are nice!)

Wow, you know what you are talking about. She is a Fiat, other than a gas stove amenities are non-existent. She’s got an appointment with the mechanic next Friday ๐ค

How VERY EXCITING! YAY for you & your husband! Nothing like a new project to get your ‘mojo’ working!

How fun! I had a 1974 VW van at one point in my life, and it was fun to camp in. It didnโt have the pop-top although I think VW made some like that. I guess you can tell Iโm in the US because I never knew Fiat even made vans. ๐

She’s from the 70s so quite senior in years. VW vans are lovely but they are so expensive over here even for a restoration project. ๐ค

She is so cute!!! ๐I love it. I love the old van. There is this really old camper I see parked at a store around where I live. It isn’t for sale, but I love it.

She has no brakes at the moment so cute but deadly!!!
But once they are fixed the fun should start ๐

Oh my goodness! What a fun project. How old is Lucia? (I know some gals don’t like to give up their age!)

Bless her she is in her mid forties and needs a bit of TLC ๐

Oh wow – what fun. We are going down the same route, though don’t have the skills for refurbishment. Ours will hopefully be arriving in the autumn. She looks fabulous and will look even better with some crocheted blankets and cusions. enjoy. xx

We don’t have the skills either she’s a longterm project. Each time we’ve saved a bit of cash we will pay for something else to be done!!! At least I’ve got plenty of yarn so I can start the crochet straight away ๐

Awesome! I am reading blog posts from recent to older and now I understand that the stashbusting blanket you plan will be for a fun camper and not a person, LOL
