BABY KNITTING

We have a new neighbour ❀️

On hearing there was going to be a new arrival a few doors down,Β  I rather rashly bought a subscription book before Christmas. Being me, I didn’t start knitting until the baby was due.

Now I bought the kit from knit in a box, I have bought things from them before but always after the reveal, I bought this before the reveal. I avoid variegated yarn as a rule! Loved the pattern (King Cole) but got into a pickle with the colour changing. Sewing up was a nightmare! I completed the button  band side without incident, but the other side,  oh my goodness!!! Firstly, I caught myself trying to sew the sleeve in upside down and,  then, when I finally put it in the right way up, I had sewn the sleeve in inside out 😱

Sadly I didn’t realise this until it was all sewn up, after lots of frogging 🐸🐸🐸 I put it to one side for a couple of days – I really wanted to throw it away! Anyway,Β  I came back to it and sewed it all up as it should be.

Variegated yarn never again, my eyes just aren’t up to it πŸ€”

LKKNITALONG – A STEP BACKWARDS!

Frogging is the order of the day🐸

Just as I was congratulating myself on only 5 squares to go I have spotted a boo boo πŸ˜•

The Crest of a wave square

This sequence is worked over 12 rows and I have worked it over 14 rows on the fourth sequence 😌 That will teach me to do an extra few rows before bedtime πŸ€” So I will be starting my day with a bit of frogging. At least it wasn’t the first sequence….

But before that a nice cup of tea. A good strong builders brew to set me up for the trials and tribulations of the new day.

Hope your day has started better than mine?

Woolly wishes,

STASH-BUSTING #22

A knitting disaster!

A few posts ago I shared a pair of red ridged mittens which I was quite pleased with 😊

I decided to make the hat to match and here it is:-

The rolls on my neck match the ridges on the hat……

It seems rather large but the pattern says that it should fit an average adult head, and I thought my head was bigger than average!

It looks like something one of the seven dwarves might wear!!!

I have tried wearing it in a slouchy way but it keeps falling down. I am not happy with it so time for a bit of frogging 🐸🐸🐸

Woolly wishes,

STASH-BUSTING #17

To frog or not to frog 🐸🐸🐸

I have picked up the wavy jumper I started last year. I completed the back just before Christmas but put it down as I raced to finish Christmas gifts. I picked it back up a few days ago and started the front.

Sadly I didn’t read the instructions and went at it like a bull in a China shop. I had read the pattern back when I started but that was weeks ago so I had forgotten wave sequence was slightly different on the front. When I realised I was so annoyed with myself and questioned should I just leave it and carry on regardless or undo it???

The jumper is for me but I would know and it would annoy me so I have spent the morning frogging and picking up stitches πŸ˜•

The completed back and the remains of the front!
I lost 6 inches of work!
All picked up and correct sequence set!

Hopefully no more dramas!
