Rugby, rugby and more rugby 🏉

Well guess what the cricket finished and the rugby world cup started…

We are a rugby household, my son plays school rugby U16 so I get to watch quite a lot but now it is on in the house for what seems like 24/7. Although I do find the progress of Japan quite exciting.

The weather has been good today so I have been pulling up lots of nettle roots. They are coming out quite easily today as the ground is wet. The river is very high and not far from the footpath. Managed to plant a few daffs close to the fence so hopefully my patch will look pretty in the spring 🌾

I am now nursing nettle stings on my arms and legs but it will be worth it!

I have managed a few walks this week in between shifts at work.

I started this post on Saturday and today is Tuesday and the weather is not so good 🌧☔🌬

I have been dog walking at a local rescue centre this morning and managed a cheeky little yoga session this afternoon and yesterday I went to my favourite craft club and sat knitting cardies for the premature baby unit over tea and biscuits – what bliss.

Sweaty Betty…

Not much crafting this week, like so many I have spent the week trying to keep cool. 35¤c on Thursday, that really is not on in good old Blighty. I have spent my time downing gallons of water and avoiding direct sunlight. Hands have been far too sweaty to knit, I did not want to make my wool all grubby. How do you manage to craft in warmer climes?🌞🌞🌞

The weather has changed today, much cooler and some rain. I have been out walking in the rain, a neighbour advised be careful not to catch a chill but really it was sensational feeling the cool rain on my skin. 🌧🌧🌧

So feeling much-better hydrated I am ready to tackle my stash bag again!

The closet crafter

Those of us who enjoy a spot of craft tend to have a bit of a stash of useful bits and pieces that might come in handy one day….

Now my stash is hidden in all manner of nooks and crannies around the house and I was becoming so fed up of my partner and son’s sarcastic comments about there being wool everywhere that I have started filling the boot of my car… This cannot be healthy???

So I have emptied it out and hidden it in the garage and I am going to try to work through it all. Maybe I could set up a stall at a festive or craft fair to get rid of some of it once complete. I am determined to complete as much as possible as it was all bought to learn new skills or develop existing ones.

I could not believe how many kits I have bought from Aldi to make various woolly animals – I can’t resist a bargain!! Along with balls of wool that were on 3 for 2 offers…

So here we go. Declutter and learn/develop new skills. This has got to be the start of some sort of journey of wellbeing. Fingers crossed xx
