STASH-BUSTING #17

To frog or not to frog ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ๐Ÿธ

I have picked up the wavy jumper I started last year. I completed the back just before Christmas but put it down as I raced to finish Christmas gifts. I picked it back up a few days ago and started the front.

Sadly I didn’t read the instructions and went at it like a bull in a China shop. I had read the pattern back when I started but that was weeks ago so I had forgotten wave sequence was slightly different on the front. When I realised I was so annoyed with myself and questioned should I just leave it and carry on regardless or undo it???

The jumper is for me but I would know and it would annoy me so I have spent the morning frogging and picking up stitches ๐Ÿ˜•

The completed back and the remains of the front!
I lost 6 inches of work!
All picked up and correct sequence set!

Hopefully no more dramas!

  1. Glad it is not just me who does that. A lot of the times I will frog the lot and start again. Usually, because I do complex patterns and think “well, I’m not going to get that back to an easy row”. Crossing my fingers you have not more setbacks.

  2. And now I’m wondering what’s different about the front – when you have enough done, or even completed! – I’d love to see a photo of the back and the front together.

That’s the kind of challenge I like – and it’s fun to knit. If you have to knit it twice, it’s twice as much fun, right??

    1. Not sure about twice as much fun. The cables alternate one forward, one backward so the end ones need to reflect this. I could have left it but would have been walking round with my arms flat against the sides of the jumper trying to hide the mistake ๐Ÿ˜†

  3. Oh but wow though. It will look awesome when itโ€™s done. I think take a deep breath, make a pirate sound, and take another deep breath. Donโ€™t put the whole effort to waste, use the mistake as a learning moment and aim for the end goal. Youโ€™ve got this! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
