Having a whale of a time 🐳
I have completed one of my Aldi kits, still loads to do…. Meet Wally the Whale.
The box said make a friend which doesn’t say much for my social circle. He is a bit lumpy – I am not a great toy maker and have never really got the hang of stuffing.
But for £3.99 he is quite cute and kept my needles busy for a few hours 🐋

What a great whale! I no longer make stuffed toys as they always look a little creepy. I can never get the eyes, or mouth even!

Your whale looks lovely, not lumpy. One of the secrets for making doll faces that don’t look creepy is how the eyelids are done. First of all, don’t omit the eyelids! And secondly, be careful of the tilt of the eyelid. If the outer edges are higher than the inner edges, the doll looks means. If the inner edges are higher the doll looks sleepy. Position the lids straight across the eyeball for best results.

I love him, Jane!!! He is adorable. We have an Aldi nearby, but I have never been in. I thought it was a grocery store. If I knew they had yarn, I would have checked it out sooner.

Thank you Regina. From time to time they have craft events so it is pot luck but I got addicted to buying their kits everytime they had a craft event last year. Sadly they are all hidden from N in a bag in the garage. So lots of crafting to be done 😂

I had difficulties with stuffing a toy too and it can take a while for me to get it how I want it! He doesn’t look lumpy to me though.
