Falling off the wagon…
Since Lockdown and the ensuing restrictions I have been so good 👼 Other than the wool for the Let’s Knit KAL and some freebie packs of wool I have not been adding to the stash. In fact everything that I have made has originated from the stash she says ever so righteously 🤗
However, this week I have bought some chunky yarn to make an ever so comfy chunky cardi, well that’s what it says on the pattern!!!
Worked over 10 rows there is just enough to keep the mind occupied and isn’t it great how quickly chunky weight knits up – instant gratification 😉
And why aren’t I using yarn from my stash? For the simple reason I am not a fan of chunky yarn as a rule so don’t get tempted. Aran weight is my main weakness! However I saw this pattern and as there isn’t a vaccination yet for COVID looks like a lot of time will be spent in well-ventilated locations this winter so best be prepared with something woolly 😄

The only reason I have been so restrained is because I am not a fan of online shopping 🌈

Great job! (only question – if that’s heavier yarn, why aren’t you using circular needles to distribute some of the weight?) Just sayin’ . . . (I’m not a fan of heavy-weight yarns, either). The sweater is a great project and will keep you warm this winter!

I’ve made that stitch for a small shawl to practice the stitch.

I know what you mean about being too hot (my age too, so I sympathise lol). I tend to wear short sleeved tops ALL year round, only difference being that in winter I fling a cardie on, which can be flung off just as easily when I don’t need it ^^

I am working on a chunky cardigan. I plan on spending a lot of time in it, too!! I agree with you that we will be spending a lot more time out of doors.

Thank you Ashley. This is just chunky so the label says not super chunky or chunky chunky. There are so many different weights of chunky yarn 🤔

You have done well and are deserving of some new yarn 😉 I don’t typically stash chunky yarn either. I have a few skeins, but they have sat for a long time. Your cardigan is looking great and you will have something snuggly warm to wrap up in over the winter.
