And so it begins….
Just thought I would offer a sneaky peak at how my nephews cable knit jumper is coming along.

So we have a single rib, some cables over 4 rows, the diamond twist pattern done over 24 rows and the textured stitch which I think is called blackberry stitch or perhaps I’ve made that up because it looks a bit like blackberries ๐ค
I have worked just over 100g of the Paton’s wool blend and I am liking the finish ๐
The sun is out so hoping for a lovely weekend after a tough week at work. Hope the weather is as kind to everyone else as the sun certainly lifts my mood.
Woolly wishes,

Wow, that looks really good. And yes it is blackberry stitch. It was one of my mother’s favourites and I had numerous cable jumpers with a front panel just like that one. Luckily I really liked it. It still looks great too. ๐

Thank you Lisa. I’m trying to keep it “old school” or as I like to call it CLASSIC ๐

Thank you Anne. Doesn’t lots of natural light make a difference ๐

And here in the northern hemisphere, the days are noticeably longer – more time to knit in the sun! I love patterns like that that keep you on your toes. beautiful.

Isn’t it great. We can almost smell spring in the air if that makes any sense at all ๐ค

“Iโm just using a standard cable pattern”, she said.
This is totally gorgeos!! He’ll love it, and the patterns look fantastic in this colour and with the yarn. Great stitch definition!

Thank you Julia. I am really pleased with the yarn and hopefully any beer stains won’t show too much on it ๐

I love the cables! My favorite is the honeycomb cables, I think that’s what they are called?

It’s looking good. How does the yarn feel,is it soft or scratchy?

Thank you. It’s quite soft but has a slightly scratchy edge. Hopefully it is hard-wearing ๐

My mum used to knit cable sweaters for the fishermen and so I learnt from her. I’m over the moon they’re very much in with the yongers again.
