I don’t appear to be helping myself much….
A couple of days ago I went for a good long walk through Bewdley, across the fields to Ribbesford and then back along the river home. It was a bit blowy but great to get some fresh air. Passing the Old Grammar School I had to take a picture of some flowers arranged by the Guides for Bewdley in Bloom.

We have goslings on the river as well. Very cute but the parents are very protective so no chance of getting a close-up let alone a selfie with them π

Now I walked into town today to get some bread and got soaked, it was hammering down with rain. The geese and goslings were on the same patch of grass. Well all except one little gosling. Bless him he was trying to work his way up the steps but they were much bigger than him. His mum was having a right go! But for my healthy respect of the adult geese I would have gone down and given the poor guy a hand. Happily on my way back he was with the rest of the family tearing up grass with his beak π
Woolly wishes,

Lovely. We had thunder and lightning here in Solihull. Only one flash, and one thunderclap, but boy it was loud!

Wow we’re not that far away. Didn’t get the thunder and lightening but a he’ll of a lot of rain. We had a fabulous rainbow yesterday βββ

Goslings are toddling around in Maryland and New York, as well. Very cute. And too far away for photos, like yours!

It’s a brave (or foolhardy person) who approaches geese at this time of year π

Aww what lovely pictures. Thanks so much for bringing your side of the world to a random stranger here in Malaysia!

My pleasure but many of my thoughts are pretty random π

Awww they are so cute!! When I was a kid, my grandparents would often take me to the duckpond where they lived (back in the days when people were feeding the ducks … I know … π ) I really love ducks, and geese are beautiful, but yeah, they CAN get nasty! π

I was brought up on a farm and we had a particularly nasty gander. He pinned my mum against a barn wall for over an hour, his days were numbered after that!!!

I hope he was at least tasty! (not a coincidence that there was a “Horrible Goose Game” last year, and not something about a mean duck)

There’s nothing mean about ducks but I missed out on Horrible Goose Game, I’m glad to say π

I wonder if there is a flower arranging badge – I bet there isn’t! I wasn’t a Girl Guide for long (got into boys and my Mum was a Leader so it never felt like a night away from home!) but I was a Brownie and loved doing the badges. You’d have to go to someone’s house to be assessed which was a bit of an adventure/scary. Now I think it’s all assessed within the Brownie Leader Group itself. As for your Geese in the photo – yes, best stay clear of Mum and Gosling – some people have guard geese not guard dogs! You might have found yourself in trouble!

Oh how funny my mum was a Brown Owl (not literally obviouslyπ) Back in the early 70s being in the Guides was my social life π Sadly none of the Boy Scouts were that interesting π

That looks like a lovely walk. We had a very big storm here, car alarms going off with the thunder and torrential rain. What a lovely arrangement of chrysanthemums – well done guides. I only managed a few weeks with the guides, the arguements were unbearable. We were at a local reserve yesterday with ducklings and goslings galore. It was a delight.

I do love this time of year with all of the baby birds and animals. And talking about the Guides, girls can be awful! I was probably one of the horrible ones π€
