Happy Blog Day πŸŽ‚

Happy Blog Day to me, happy blog day dear Jane 🍷

My little blog is 6 months old. Said blog was actually opened on 4 June with the natty little post that WordPress gave me. But my first post “A fresh start” was on the seventh.

The first picture that I uploaded!

I have been wearing that sweater quite a lot recently. Nice and warm and comfy. Not sure colour is really me but design is great. Might make myself another one in a more flattering colour. Why did I make myself a sweater in a colour that wasn’t really me, well I had the yarn knocking around and didn’t want it to go to waste!!!

Anyway back to my Blog Day. The last six months have been fab. I have loved reading everyone’s posts. You are all so talented β™‘β™‘β™‘

And having to put posts together has kept me on task because let’s face it we have to have something to post about. I have wanted to do a Christmas stall for a long time and thanks to blogging I did one.

It has been a fun six months, here’s to the next six 🍾🍾🍾

RANDOM POST #1

SCON or SCONE???

So Jackie B posted about this yummy scone that she had. I am still slavering over the yummy picture that Jackie took of a scone.

However, the big question is do you say:

Scon

OR

Scone

STASH-BUSTING #14

Christmas fair πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

Today was the day of the Christmas fair, so I packed my bags and set off to make my fortune…

How many woolly things can you pack in a hamper?

I laid out my stall and waited for the punters to come…

I need to work on my presentation!!

It went much better than I expected. I always get a thrill when someone wants to buy something that I have made.

Even after paying for my table I had money to take away. My hobby has paid for itself – how wonderful is that and I have money and space for more wool πŸ€”

Some hats to make for Christmas and a stocking for Carols and Mince Pies πŸ‘ΌπŸ‘ΌπŸ‘Ό

Wishing you all a woolly weekend.

Unlucky for some…

I have been making bits and pieces to sell on a craft stall at St Barnabas Christmas fair tomorrow. Here are some of my efforts:

This highlights the fact that I cannot take a photo with one hand as well as my hand is looking pretty shabby…
Woolly mittens
Cable wrist warmers
Girlie wrist warmers

Will post my fully laden craft table tomorrow.

Wish me luck β™‘β™‘β™‘

Woolly or Frosty ….

I have a bag full of mittens, hats and wristwarmers that need sewing up. I have never been a fan of pegging out and sewing in ends.

I still have a scarf and the Christmas stocking for my sister’s carols and mince pie evening on my needles.

I am half way through a jumper for myself.

All those projects and I have been pulling my hair out making a snow man…

Frosty sat on the scarf that I should have finished by now !!!

This is mark one. I am going to have another go as not completely happy with the hat. I don’t know why? It has driven me mad making him but hey ho!!

Don’t you love the run up to Christmas β›„β›„β›„

Not even nice weather for ducks…

Hoping the weather is better with you all. It is absolutely dreadful here. All I want to do is stay in the warm and dry and do my knitting – no change there then!!! πŸ˜†

Thursday I had the school run and it took forever to get home so many roads were closed due to flooding 🌨🌨🌨

School quiz night last night so the Xmas stocking was duly stuffed with Christmas tat and offered as a raffle prize. I have started knitting one for my sister to use for her carols and mince pie evening. The people in my team were quite clever (luckily for me) but we fell on our face in the “Fun with Flags” round. I hadn’t even heard of half the countries let alone know what their flags looked like!!πŸ€”

So the river is rising again but not in the garden yet, although the flood defences are up in town. Surely there can’t be any more rain up there???

Back to my knitting I think β™‘β™‘β™‘

And the goose is getting fat…

πŸ¦ƒπŸ¦ƒπŸ¦ƒπŸ¦ƒπŸ¦ƒ

So no matter how much I try to ignore it the festive season is just around the corner.

Ding dong merrily on high πŸŽ…

So I am using up red and white yarn. I love the simplicity of scandi patterns. I found the pattern for the hearts in an old issue of Knit Today (issue 91 Xmas 2013). The hearts are supposed to be done on dpns but I get into a bit of mess with them at the best of times so gave up with so few stitches. My hearts have a side seam….

The stocking is ready for a quiz night next week, this is taken from a Debbie Bliss pattern found in a Xmas Prima (2011). It is no wonder my house is such a state I don’t throw anything away!!!

I have just got to buy a load of Christmas tat to fill the stocking with so that the Parents Association can raffle it. I then have to make another one for my sister to raffle at a carols and mince pie evening πŸ‘ΌπŸ‘ΌπŸ‘Ό

Should get through a chunk of my red and white stash β™‘β™‘β™‘

But what about my bulbs 🌷🌷🌷

My garden fence…

We have a water feature at the bottom of the garden. Not so long ago I planted a load of bulbs on the otherside of the fence – I don’t hold out much hope!!!

Our water feature!

Peaking over next couple of days and then clear up the mess. Glad I saved the grass seed for the spring….

Back to my knitting to cheer me up β™‘
