We have a new neighbour ❤️
On hearing there was going to be a new arrival a few doors down, I rather rashly bought a subscription book before Christmas. Being me, I didn’t start knitting until the baby was due.

Now I bought the kit from knit in a box, I have bought things from them before but always after the reveal, I bought this before the reveal. I avoid variegated yarn as a rule! Loved the pattern (King Cole) but got into a pickle with the colour changing. Sewing up was a nightmare! I completed the button band side without incident, but the other side, oh my goodness!!! Firstly, I caught myself trying to sew the sleeve in upside down and, then, when I finally put it in the right way up, I had sewn the sleeve in inside out 😱
Sadly I didn’t realise this until it was all sewn up, after lots of frogging 🐸🐸🐸 I put it to one side for a couple of days – I really wanted to throw it away! Anyway, I came back to it and sewed it all up as it should be.
Variegated yarn never again, my eyes just aren’t up to it 🤔
Woolly wishes,
Jane ♡♡♡
That is beautiful! what a pain though putting it together. It all worked in the end though. Good for you.

I’m sure the gift will be adored. I detest pieced garments so it’s raglan for me!! Sorry you have issues with variegated. It’s my favorite. Or at least tonal. I’m not a solid fan.

What a great “Welcome to the neighborhood!” But this is why I prefer to knit garments in one piece. And in the round. Not that I never have to do any frogging!

It did wind up being awfully cute when finished but booo! for the struggles getting it put together. I’m sure it will look adorable on the new little one.

I’ve never tried Knit in a Box but it does look good. Maybe I should buy a project and get knitting again.

It looks wonderful, Jane! I just ripped out all of the yoke increases on the sweater I am currently working on. Can’t blame it on anything other than human error.

Thank you. That’s the problem, I take my mind off it for a second and wham a mistake 🤣

It looks great! I am not brave enough to do more than hats as I never seem to get my gauge right and am too impatient. Always impressed with your work!

Thank you, I’m not sure you need to be brave, possibly a bit reckless though 🤣

What a shame about all the faff it caused you, but it is a beautiful set and I’m sure it will be treasured.
